DiaCare AI is an educational tool, not a medical device. This page exists so you understand exactly where the line is — what we will help with, what we will not, and how your data is handled.
What DiaCare will do
- Explain diabetes types, symptoms, and risk factors in plain language
- Help you understand lab reports (HbA1c, fasting glucose, OGTT)
- Suggest meal patterns and portion sizes, tuned for Indian context
- Walk you through risk assessments using validated frameworks
- Provide lifestyle guidance: exercise, sleep, stress, foot care
- Help you prepare better questions for your doctor visits
- Correct common diabetes myths with evidence-based answers
What DiaCare will never do
- Diagnose a disease. Only a qualified doctor can do that, with proper tests.
- Prescribe medications. Or change your existing prescriptions. Even if asked directly.
- Replace your doctor. DiaCare prepares you for visits; it does not substitute them.
- Give emergency medical advice. For emergencies, call your local emergency services immediately (112 in India).
- Make treatment decisions for you. Always confirm with a healthcare professional.
Emergency situations — call emergency services immediately
If you experience any of the following, stop reading this page and call 112 (India) or your local emergency number:
- Chest pain or pressure, especially with sweating or shortness of breath
- Sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body
- Slurred speech or sudden confusion
- Loss of consciousness or seizure
- Severe vomiting with very high blood sugar (suspect DKA)
- Fruity-smelling breath with confusion and rapid breathing
- Severe hypoglycemia — the person cannot swallow or is unresponsive
For severe but non-life-threatening hypoglycemia where the person is awake, follow the 15-15 rule.
How we handle your data
What we store
- Health profile — lives in your browser’s
localStorage. Your phone, your laptop, your control. We never see it on our servers. - Chat history — also browser-local. Clearing your browser data clears DiaCare history.
- Anonymous request logs — our Cloudflare Worker logs error rates and rough request counts for reliability. No content. No identifiers.
What we never do
- Sell your data — to anyone, ever.
- Use your conversations to train models without explicit opt-in.
- Share your health profile with advertisers, insurers, or third parties.
- Run third-party analytics SDKs, ad pixels, or trackers.
What you control
- You can clear your DiaCare data anytime — clear browser site data, or use the in-app reset.
- You can delete your health profile field by field in the profile screen.
- You can stop using DiaCare anytime — nothing follows you out.
The model — Arka Helix 1
DiaCare runs on Arka Helix 1, Vyoma’s flagship wrapper model. The system prompt instructs it to:
- Refuse diagnostic and prescription requests
- Escalate emergencies to "call emergency services"
- Cite uncertainty rather than guess
- Always recommend a qualified clinician for medical decisions
The model is reviewed and tuned regularly. If you encounter a response that does not honour these guardrails, please tell us.
For parents, caregivers, and minors
DiaCare AI is intended for users aged 13 and above. Children with diabetes should be guided by parents and pediatric endocrinologists. DiaCare can support a parent’s understanding but never replaces specialist care for a minor.
For pregnant users
If you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, please share that with your healthcare provider and follow their guidance. DiaCare can answer general questions about gestational diabetes, but pregnancy-specific care must come from your obstetrician.
