A chatbot that forgets you between conversations is a sales rep with amnesia.
Arka has a memory system. It is small, local, and yours.
The five memory categories
- Identity. Your name, what you call yourself, basic facts.
- Career. What you do, where you work, what you are trying to grow into.
- Projects. What you are working on right now, and what you have shipped recently. Pairs with the Projects system.
- Preferences. How you like Arka to respond. Tone, length, language, examples vs theory.
- Instructions. Hard rules. Always respond in Hinglish. Never use semicolons in code.
You can add, edit, or delete any memory in Settings → Capabilities → Memory. You can also disable the system entirely if you would rather Arka start fresh every conversation.
Bring your existing memory with you
If you have been using ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, you can paste in your existing memory and Arka will import it. The mapper is forgiving: it figures out which category each entry belongs in, and you can edit anything afterwards.
Everything lives in your browser's localStorage. It is never sent to our servers without being attached to a specific message, and we do not store it on our side after that message is processed. See our privacy policy for the full data flow.
